Pope Praying

Benedict XVI will be praying in October that the dying will find support in the love of their brothers and sisters.

The Apostleship of Prayer announced the intentions chosen by the Pope for the upcoming month.

His general intention is for the terminally ill: “That the terminally ill may be supported by their faith in God and the love of their brothers and sisters.”

His mission intention is: “That the celebration of World Mission Day may foster in the People of God a passion for evangelization with the willingness to support the missions with prayer and economic aid for the poorest Churches.”

In 2011, World Mission Sunday will be celebrated Oct. 23. It is celebrated annually on the next-to-last Sunday in October.

The Pope’s message for World Mission Sunday ’11 was released in January.
