Readings of the day

First Reading: 1 John 1:5-2,2
Psalm: 102:1-4,8-9,13-14,17-18

Gospel: Matthew 11:25-30

At that time Jesus said, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and the intelligent and have revealed them to infants; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Read more »

Mass on the fifth Sunday of Easter

The Chapel of the Anunciation Centre for Evangelisation and Formation, Floriana

L-omelija tal-Arċisqof Charles Jude Scicluna

Illum nisimgħu silta oħra mill-Evanġelju ta’ San Ġwann u tixbiha oħra li jagħmel Ġesù tiegħu nnifsu. Il-Ħadd li għadda smajnieh jgħid “Jien ir-ragħaj it-tajjeb” (Ġw 10:14). Illum jieħu t-tixbiha mill-ambjent tal-ħajja tal-bidwi anzi jsejjaħ lill-Missier ‘il-bidwi’. Sejjaħ lilu nnifsu wkoll ‘id-dielja’. U lilna isejħilna ‘l-friegħi ta’ din id-dielja’.

L-insistenza ta’ Ġesù illum hi li aħna nibqgħu miegħu u fih… Read more »

Art exhibition: Caritas Fest at the Parliament of Malta

L-Ispeaker tal-Kamra tad-Deputati Anġlu Farrugia inawgura l-wirja tal-arti tat-tfal tal-iskejjel, “Caritas Fest”, fil-Parlament ta’ Malta.  Permezz tat-tpinġijiet tagħhom, it-tfal urew “kif huma jixtiequ jaraw lil Malta”, sabiex Malta tibqa’ awtentika, naturali u sabiħa.

Permezz ta din il wirja it-tfal urew ix-xewqa li pajjiżna jkun nadif u ma jitlifx il-pajsaġġ naturali, il-wirt storiku u d-drawwiet tradizzjonali Maltin.

It-tfal wasslu messaġġ wkoll dwar in-numru kbir ta’ vetturi li għandna fit-toroq tagħna, mill-konġestjoni tat-traffiku u mill-kwantità ta’ bini modern li nbena f’dawn l-aħħar snin li ma jpaxxix l-għajn u ma jmurx mal-karattru tad-djar tradizzjonali li nsibu fil-bliet u rħula Maltin… Read more »

To not be confused – Bishop Galea-Curmi

The Chapel of Our Lady of Manresa at the Archbishop's Curia, Floriana

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

“Tħallux qalbkom titħawwad” (Ġw 14:1). Dan hu l-kliem li Ġesù jgħid lid-dixxipli tiegħu fl-Aħħar Ċena, u nafu li d-dixxipli kienu diġà mħawdin u kienu se jitħawdu aktar. Kellhom bżonn jisimgħu dan il-kliem ta’ Ġesù! Nafu li Ġesù nnifsu, iktar qabel fl-Evanġelju skont San Ġwann stess, f’mument minnhom kien qal: “Issa qed inħossni mħawwad. U x’naqbad ngħid? Missier, salvani minn din is-siegħa? … Read more »
