Riflessjoni tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

“It-tama titwieled mill-imħabba u tissejjes fuq l-imħabba li tgelgel mill-Qalb ta’ Ġesù minfuda fuq is-salib”. Dan hu kliem il-Papa Franġisku fil-Bolla tal-Indizzjoni tal-Ġublew tas-sena d-dieħla, bit-titlu meħud mill-Ittra ta’ San Pawl lir-Rumani: “It-tama ma tqarraqx bina” (Rum 5:5).

Nixtieq li aħna s-saċerdoti miġbura quddiem Ġesu Sagramentat nirriflettu fuq din it-tama, u speċjalment fuq kif aħna s-saċerdoti msejħin biex inħaddnu din it-tama, u biex fl-għajxien tal-vokazzjoni tagħna nkunu xhieda ta’ din it-tama, inwassluha… Read more »

The Gospel of the day: 10th June

Readings of the day

First Reading: 1 Kings 17:1-6
Psalm: 120 (121):1-2,3-4,5-6,7-8

Gospel: Matthew 5:1-12

Seeing the crowds, Jesus went up on the mountain, and when he sat down his disciples came to him. And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so men persecuted the prophets who were before you.” Read more »
