Mother to our Saviour – Bishop Galea-Curmi

  Parish Church, Balzan

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

Waħda mill-espressjonijiet li tisma’ fil-Festa tal-Lunzjata – rajtha wkoll miktuba – hija “Viva Omm is-Salvatur”. Naturalment, għandi nifhem li għal ħafna jkun hemm intenzjoni retta f’din l-espressjoni, imma nixtieq li niffoka fuqha fil-Festa tal-Lunzjata ta’ din is-sena u naraw x’tgħallimna.

Marija tmexxina lejn Ġesù

Jesus said to Nicodemus: “’You must be born from above.’ The wind blows where it wills, and you can hear the sound it makes, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes; so it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” Nicodemus answered and said to him, “How can this happen?”

Pope at Regina Caeli: Ask yourself “do I believe that Jesus is risen?”

  Saint Peter's Square, The Vatican

Dear brothers and sisters, happy Sunday!

Today, the second Sunday of Easter, dedicated by Saint John Paul II to Divine Mercy, the Gospel (cf. Jn 20:19-30) tells us that, by believing in Jesus, Son of God, we can have eternal life in His name (v. 31). “To have life”: what does it mean?

We all want to have life, but there are various ways of having it… Read more »

A heart full of mercy – Bishop Galea-Curmi

Sanctuary of the Divine Mercy, Naxxar

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

“Ġib sebgħek hawn u ara jdejja, u ressaq idek u qegħedha fuq ġenbi” (Ġw 20:27). Dan huwa l-kliem li Ġesù jgħid lil Tumas meta jidher lit-tnax tmint ijiem wara l-qawmien tiegħu mill-mewt. Kull sena, fit-Tieni Ħadd tal-Għid, nisimgħu din l-istorja ta’ kif l-ewwel darba li Ġesù deher lid-dixxipli tiegħu flimkien, Tumas ma kienx hemm. Dak inhar l-Evanġelju jgħid li Ġesù wriehom idejh u ġenbu, jiġifieri s-sinjali tal-pjagi tiegħu, il-konferma li hu dak li kien imsallab imma issa qam mill-mewt… Read more »

A word that makes all the difference – Bishop Galea-Curmi

The Chapel of Our Lady of Manresa at the Archbishop's Curia, Floriana

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

“Dak il-lejl ma qabdu xejn” (Ġw 21:4). Dan hu li naqraw fl-Evanġelju skont San Ġwann fuq dawn id-dixxipli ta’ Ġesù li marru jistadu. Kien Pietru, li f’dan ir-rakkont hu diġà meqjus bħala l-kap tagħhom, li qal “sejjer nistad” (Ġw 21:3). U s-sitta l-oħra – kienu sebgħa b’kollox – marru biex jistadu. Imma dak il-lejl ma qabdu xejn.

Meta sebaħ, jaraw lil xi ħadd fuq ix-xatt li għall-bidu ma għarfuhx li kien Ġesù… Read more »
