This evening, Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Galea-Curmi will leave Malta for Lourdes to lead the annual diocesan pilgrimage of the sick organized by the Maltese Association for the Transportation of the Sick to Lourdes (UMTAL). The Bishop will be accompanied by Fr Joseph Mizzi, UMTAL’s Chaplain, and Fr Wistin Attard OFM Cap.
A total of 180 persons made up of 48 patients, 64 pilgrims and 68 volunteers that include 5 doctors, 6 nurses, 3 pharmacists and 7 student nurses, will be going on this pilgrimage… Read more »
Tlesta l‑proġett ta’ restawr fuq il‑faċċata, u fuq il‑ġenb tal‑kampnar tax‑xellug tal‑knisja parrokkjali tal‑Qrendi, proġett li sar b’investiment ta’ €84,000 li 80% minnhom kienu kofinanzjati minn fondi tal‑Unjoni Ewropea. Il‑proġett ġie inawgurat mis‑Segretarju Parlamentari għall‑Fondi Ewropej Chris Bonett u mill‑Isqof Awżiljarju Joseph Galea‑Curmi. Dear brothers and sisters, buongiorno!
Today the Gospel presents us the parable of the sower (cf. Mt 13:1-23). “Sowing” is a very beautiful image, and Jesus uses it to describe the gift of his Word. Let us imagine a seed: it is tiny, barely visible, but it makes plants grow that bear fruit. The Word of God is thus: think of the Gospel, a small book, simple and within reach of all, that produces new life in those who receive it… Read more »

In those days, Jesus told his apostles: “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and one’s foes will be members of one’s own household.
Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and whoever does not take up the cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Those who find their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will find it. “Whoever welcomes you welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. Whoever welcomes a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward; and whoever welcomes a righteous person in the name of a righteous person will receive the reward of the righteous; and whoever gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones in the name of a disciple—truly I tell you, none of these will lose their reward.”
