Accepting God’s will without grumbling – The Archbishop

The Chapel of Our Lady of Manresa at the Archbishop's Curia, Floriana

L-omelija tal-Arċisqof Charles Jude Scicluna

Rari naqraw din is-silta b’mod sħiħ. Ħafna drabi nieqfu fil-kelma sabiħa ta’ Ġesù lil Pietru li jirrikonoxxi l-kelma tal-missier permezz tal-appostlu u jgħidlu: “Int tkellimt hekk għax imnebbaħ minn missieri li hu fis-smewwiet. “Mhux bniedem tad-demm u l-laħam uriek dan, imma missieri li hu fis-smewwiet” (Mt 16:17). Imma Pietru ma tlumux li jibqa’ jirraġuna ta’ bniedem li hu.

Meta Ġesù jibda jitkellem dwar il-ħtieġa li jbati, li jkun miċħud, li joqtluh u li jqum fit-tielet jum… Read more »

2020 Financial Report: Substantial decrease in Church collections due to the pandemic

In 2020, the Archdiocese of Malta, which includes more than 100 entities and employs more than 1,300 people, registered a significant decrease in its surplus from €3.5 million in 2019 to €1.2 million in 2020. The two main factors which contributed to this surplus were a one-off donation in shares to Fondazzjoni Sebħ, as well as inheritance received by Dar tal-Providenza and Dar tal-Kleru.

Pope Francis in General Audience: There is just one Gospel

  The Vatican

Brothers and sisters, good morning!

When it comes to the Gospel and the mission to evangelise, Paul is enthusiastic, he comes out of himself. He seems to see nothing other than this mission that the Lord has entrusted to him. Everything in him is dedicated to this proclamation, and he has no interest other than the Gospel. It is Paul’s love, Paul’s interest, Paul’s profession: to proclaim… Read more »

Faith and firm will – Bishop Joseph Galea-Curmi

The Chapel of Our Lady of Manresa at the Archbishop's Curia, Floriana

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

Fl-Evanġelju tolqtok kif kultant nies li ma tistennihomx li se jagħrfu min hu Ġesù jkunu l-ewwel li jifhmu min hu. Hawnhekk għandna l-mara Kananeja, li ma kinitx parti mill-poplu Lhudi, li turina li għarfet tassew min hu Ġesù.

Hawnhekk Ġesù jitlaq lejn Tir u Sidon, fid-distrett fis-Sirja, tul il-kosta tal-Mediterran, qisu biex jevita l-folol. Imma hemmhekk toħroġ dil-mara li riedet li Ġesù jfejjaq lil bintha li kellha spirtu ħażin fiha… Read more »
