Jesus said to his disciples : “But I say to you that listen, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. If anyone strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also; and from anyone who takes away your coat do not withhold even your shirt. Give to everyone who begs from you; and if anyone takes away your goods, do not ask for them again.

Fit-8 ta’ Settembru aħna l-Maltin u l-Għawdxin inħossu kemm hu twajjeb, għaref u veru dan il-kliem tal-Appostlu Missierna San Pawl f’kapitlu 8 tal-Ittra tiegħu lir-Rumani. Mill-esperjenza nafu li Alla, jaħdem id f’id ma’ dawk li jħobbuh.

It-8 ta’ Settembru għalina l-Maltin u l-Għawdxin huwa jum ta’ rebħa; bir-raġun insejħulha ‘il- Vitorja’… Read more »

Il-festa nazzjonali tat-8 ta’ Settembru li aħna bdejna niċċelebraw minn lejlet b’dan il-pontifikal statali, għalina l-Maltin kienet dejjem espressjoni ta’ sitwazzjonijiet diffiċli ħafna li b’volontà ngħixu fil-paċi u s-sliem, li nkunu trankwilli, li nkunu nistgħu ngawdu l-gżejjer tagħna f’armonija u meħlusa minn kull theddida ta’ jasar jew inkella ta’ qerda… Read more »

Mass on the week of the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The Parish Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mellieħa

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

It-twelid ta’ Marija ġab ferħ kbir lill-ġenituri tagħha, Sant’Anna u San Ġwakkin. Imma li ma kinux jafu l-ġenituri tagħha kien li l-ferħ tagħhom ma kienx se jibqa’ tagħhom biss, bħala ġenituri u familja, imma kien se jkun il-ferħ tal-poplu kollu Nisrani.

Għalhekk, aħna u nħejju ruħna għaċ-ċelebrazzjoni tat-twelid ta’ Marija, niftakru li hi ċelebrazzjoni li nagħmlu lkoll bħala Knisja għax tfakkarna f’Marija li t-twelid tagħha kien ifisser li twieldet dik li kellha tkun Omm Alla… Read more »

Following in the apostles’ footsteps – The Archbishop

The Chapel of Our Lady of Manresa at the Archbishop's Curia, Floriana

L-omelija tal-Arċisqof Charles Jude Scicluna

F’din is-silta mill-Evanġelju ta’ San Luqa joħroġ biċ-ċar ħafna li l-appostli joħorġu mill-qalb ta’ Ġesù imma wkoll joħorġu mit-talb tiegħu. Aħna u nitolbu biex inkunu fidili lejn Ġesù u lejn il-Knisja tiegħu li hi mibnija fuq l-appostli, għandna bżonn nitgħallmu din il-lezzjoni sabiħa li jagħtina l-Mulej: “Jekk il-Mulej ma jibnix id-dar, għalxejn jitħabtu l-bennejja. Jekk il-Mulej ma jħarisx il-belt, għalxejn jishar l-għassies”… Read more »

“Ġid lil kulħadd, deni lil ħadd” – Bishop Galea-Curmi

The Chapel of Our Lady of Manresa at the Archbishop's Curia, Floriana

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

“X’jiswa nhar ta’ Sibt, tagħmel il-ġid jew tagħmel id-deni? Issalva ħajja jew teqridha?” Dan hu li qal Ġesù lill-kittieba u lill-Fariżej fis-sinagoga qabel ma għamel il-miraklu u fejjaq lir-raġel li kellu idu niexfa. Il-kittieb u l-Fariżej kienu, skont l-Evanġelju, “moħħhom fih”; mhux biex isegwu t-tagħlim tiegħu, jew dak li kien qed jgħid, lanqas għax kienu jattirawhom il-mirakli li kien jagħmel Ġesù, imma biex jaraw ifejjaqx lil dan il-bniedem f’Jum is-Sibt… Read more »
