In those days an argument arose among them as to which one of them was the greatest. But Jesus, aware of their inner thoughts, took a little child and put it by his side, and said to them, “Whoever welcomes this child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me; for the least among all of you is the greatest.”

John answered, “Master, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we tried to stop him, because he does not follow with us.” But Jesus said to him, “Do not stop him; for whoever is not against you is for you.”

A heartfelt response – Bishop Galea-Curmi

The Chapel of Our Lady of Manresa at the Archbishop's Curia, Floriana

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

Aħna mdorrijin li nisimgħu l-kelma ta’ Ġesù u fiha naraw dak li jgħallimna għall-ħajja tagħna u li jurina kif għandna ngħixu l-ħajja tagħna. Imma hemm mumenti fl-Evanġelju fejn Ġesù jistaqsi, jagħmel hu l-mistoqsijiet. Kien hemm min ġabar dawn il-mistoqsijiet li għamel Ġesù – hemm iktar minn mija. U donnu mindu kien żgħir kien jagħmel dan, għax fl-Evanġelju skont San Luqa, fit-tieni kapitlu, hemm dak ir-rakkont meta Ġesù baqa’ fit-tempju, u marru Marija u Ġużeppi jfittxuh, u l-Evanġelju jgħid li sabuh fost l-għalliema, “jismagħhom u jistaqsihom” (Lq 2:46)… Read more »
