President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca meets Pope Francis

  • On Thursday, 21st March 2019, the Holy Father Francis received in audience Her Excellency Mrs Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, president of Malta, who subsequently met with His Eminence Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin, accompanied by the Rev. Environment Commission: Towards sustainable connectivity between Malta and Gozo

Scientists call for global moratorium on “designer babies”

  • A group of 18 scientists and bioethicists have called for a global moratorium on the practice of editing human genes until an “international framework” is in place to ensure that ethical standards are maintained.
