Pope Francis met on Friday with bishops from around the world who are attending a course at the Vatican tribunal of the Roman Rota to discuss recent developments regarding marriage annulments.

In September 2015 Pope Francis issued two new documents introducing reforms to the legal structures of the Church, making marital nullity trials simpler, faster and less expensive.

In his words to participants at the three day Vatican training course, the Pope noted that bishops must be both “teachers of the faith” but also those who learn from the needs and questions of men and women today…

On Thursday 17th November 2016, Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna presided over an Oratory ‘Canticum Vitae’ (Song of Life), at St John’s Cathedral, Valletta.

The Oratorio, which was a celebration of Inclusion, was executed in style by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of the composer himself, Mro Hermann Farrugia Frantz, with Bible verses compiled by Mgr Lawrence Gatt.

Christians Together in Malta, the Maltese Ecumenical Council, is organising an ecumenical prayer service in preparation for Advent. The prayer service will be held on Friday 25th November 2016, at 6:30 p.m., at the Vocations Centre Chapel, at the Archbishop’s Minor Seminary, Tal-Virtù.
