British Catholic legislators ask Pope to relax priestly celibacy rule

Twenty-one Catholic members of Parliament have written to Pope Francis to ask him to relax the rule on priestly celibacy for Latin-rite priests. Iċ-ċelebrazzjoni tal-quddiesa saret fil-Kon Katidral ta’ San Ġwann fil-Belt Valletta. Flimkien mal-Arċisqof Pawlu Cremona, f’din iċ-ċelebrazzjoni jieħdu sehem saċerdoti djoċesani u reliġjużi. Is-saċerdoti preżenti għal din iċ-ċelebrazzjoni jġeddu l-wegħdiet li għamlu dakinhar tal-ordinazzjoni saċerdotali.

Il-Via Crucis Nazzjonali bdiet minn ħdejn il-Monument ta’ Kristu Re fil-Furjana, għaddiet mit-toroq tal-Belt Valletta u ntemmet bil-barka Ewkaristika quddiem il-Kon-Katidral ta’ San Ġwann.

Vatican workers join pope for early morning Masses

A new edition of the Ecclesiastical Directory for 2013 with over 530 pages of updated information in Maltese and English about the organization, including structures and entities of the Archdiocese of Malta, has just been published.

The Directory includes detailed information about the number of parishioners and families; Masses on Sundays and Feast Days, as well as during the week; processions; the names of the religious associations and movements represented in the various parishes; the number of Baptisms, First Holy Communions, Confirmations, Marriages and Funerals held in the previous year in every parish; and small churches or chapels where marriages can be celebrated… Read more »
