EDUCATION: KEY TO ERADICTION OF MALARIA

World Malaria Day

Today is World Malaria Day. Global campaigners are using the occasion to appeal for 3.2 billion dollars to try to reach the U.N. goal of “near-zero” deaths from the mosquito-borne disease by 2015. According to the World Health Organization great progress has been made in reducing malaria deaths using bednets, insecticide spray and drugs.
Lydia O’Kane spoke to Felicia Price, technical advisor for community health and HIV with Christian Aid who stressed the importance of education in the fight against the disease… Read more »
