On Sunday, 7th March, 2010, the World Youth Day Cross and Icon replica were taken to Iklin parish. The activity started with a symbolic walk around the parish centre and was followed by Mass. The youths expressed their thoughts on the Pope’s upcoming visit saying that “the Pope’s visit should act as a reminder of the Good News, which is addressed to all those who still yearn to be part of the Catholic Church”.
The Iklin parish priest, Mons. Karm Aquilina, took the opportunity to thank all those youths who dedicate their time towards helping their peers.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, 14th March, the Cross and Icon will be taken to the church of Saint Nicholas of Tolentino in Tarxien, where a Mass animated by youths will be celebrated at 10.00am.
