• From 1st September to 4th October 2018, Christians around the world unite to pray and care for our common home during the Season of Creation. The theme for this year’s celebration is ‘Walking Together’.

The Season of Creation spans over five weeks, between the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation (1st September) and the feast day of St Francis of Assisi (4th October), the patron saint of animals and ecology.

Pope Francis established for Catholics the celebration of the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation in 2015, an annual celebration of prayer and action to protect creation. In his message for this year, the Pope appealed to all men of good will to take good care of creation—a gift freely given—cultivating and protecting it for future generations.
