The Episcopal Ordination of Fr Prospero Grech OSA will be held on 8th February 2012, at 6pm, at St John’s Co-Cathedral, Valletta. Archbishop Paul Cremona OP and Fr Prospero Grech, recently decided upon this date, following the announcement by Pope Benedict XVI that Fr Prospero will be nominated one of the new Cardinals to the Concistory on 18th February.
In Malta, Fr Prospero will be consecrated as a Bishop by Mgr Giuseppe Versaldi, Archbishop and President of the Prefecture for Economic Affairs at the Holy See. Same as Fr Prospero, Archbishop Versaldi, who until some time ago served as Archbishop of Alessandria, Italy, has also been nominated as a Cardinal. The Bishops who will concelebrate at the Episcopal Ordination will be the Archbishop, Paul Cremona OP and the Bishop of Gozo, Mons Mario Grech.
Fr Prospero Grech is expected to arrive in Malta on 6th February.
