On Tuesday, 18th may, 2010, the Catholic Institute will celebrate its 50th anniversary. On this occasion, Archbishop Emeritus Joseph Mercieca will celebrate Mass at the Catholic Institute for all employees.

This institution was created by the Church to spread Christian education as well as to offer the public a means of recreation.

A concert will be held as part of the anniversary activities, on the 28th May, at 7.30 p.m. at the Catholic Institute. Carlo Diacono’s ‘oratorio’, “San Paolo Evangelizza I Maltesi”, will be performed by soloists, choir, organ and orchestra.  Fr John Galea will lead the National Filarmonica Orchestra leader Marcelline Agius  with the participation of  Miriam Cauchi (soprano), Claire Massa (mezzo soprano), Joseph Aquilina (tenor), Alfred Camilleri (baritone), Anthony Montebello (bass) and the Mirabitur choir.
