On the 20th January 2016, all the secondary section students left the school premises to go out on a pilgrimage. Students were exposed to different experiences of acts of mercy, in different places in Rabat. These included elderly residents at Villa Messina and Dar Saura, priests from id-Dar tal-Kleru, refugees, a priest from a home for children, as well as individuals following a drug rehabilitation programme at San Blas. The year 11s had a discussion on respecting human life throughout all its stages. Students ended their pilgrimage by walking through the holy door of the Cathedral of St. Paul in Mdina and there mass was celebrated by the Vicar General, Monsignor Joe Galea Curmi.
On Friday 22nd January 2016, all the students of the primary school were present for a Jubilee of Mercy celebration in which the Year 4 students explained ‘mercy’ through a presentation of the parable of the Good Samaritan and the conversion of Saint Paul. Archbishop Emeritus Paul Cremona was present for this celebration and afterwards visited different classes in which students were having different activities about the parable of the Good Samaritan. At the end of the day all the staff of the Archbishop’s Seminary School had a discussion with the Vicar General on the ethos of our school and current matters of the Church in Malta.
Another celebration to mark this Jubilee of Mercy took place last Sunday, 13th of March 2016. Various students with their families and staff members gathered at the school for a reflection and a penitential service. Later in the afternoon a pilgrimage to Mdina Cathedral took place. The students then animated the mass that was celebrated at the Cathedral.
