The Secretariat for Maltese Priests who serve the Church abroad (SMPO) greet priests, religious and laity who are performing missionary duties and wish to express their appreciation for the sterling work they perform in this particular field.
The Secretariat wishes to invite the Maltese people to pause for a moment and reflect, together as a family or within groups, upon the difficulties which those missionaries who are working in Pakistan and India are presently facing. Everyone is urged to offer up prayers for their intentions.
Presently there are a number of Jesuit Fathers, Salesians and members of the Society of St Paul, Dominican Sisters, Francisan Sisters Missionaries of Mary, Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Sisters of Charity as well as Sisters of Jesus of Nazareth, who are serving in other countries, away from our shores.
