On the occasion of the World Meeting of Families, which is being held in Milan between 30th May and 3rd June, with the theme “The Family, Work and Celebration”, the Apostolic Penitentiary, by a Decree dated 17th May, has announced that Pope Benedict XVI will grant a plenary indulgence to all the faithful who in a spirit of contrition aspire to the holiness of the family, on the example of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
This Plenary Indulgence will be granted subject to the usual conditions (confession, holy communion and prayer for the Pope’s intentions) to all those who participate in the celebrations taking place in Milan. It will also be granted to all those who unite themselves spiritually with the Maltese faithful in Milan by praying the Our Father, the Creed and other prayers at the same time that the Pope will address the public on the media.
Partial indulgence will also be granted to those persons who, for the duration of the event, contritely pray for the true good of the family.
