Photos: The episcopal insignia of the Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Galea-Curmi

The ring represents the seal of fidelity of the bishop to the Church, the bride of Christ. In the past, the ring was given as a symbol of honour that served as a seal for official documents. It was represented the betrothal of the bishop to his diocese. The ring that will be presented to Mgr Joseph Galea-Curmi during the Pontifical Mass of the Episcopal Ordination is a gift from Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna.

The mitre represents the zeal of the bishop to walk in the path of holiness. The mitre that will be worn by Mgr Joseph Galea-Curmi is a gift from the parish of Ħal Balzan.

The pastoral staff recalls that the bishop is a shepherd that takes care of his flock. The pastoral staff that will be presented to Mgr Joseph Galea-Curmi is a gift from the parish of St Joseph the Worker, Birkirkara.
