• A new collective agreement covering the period 2015-2019 has been signed between the Archbishop’s Curia and the Union Haddiema Maghqudin. The agreement was signed by Michael Pace Ross, Administrative Secretary of the Archdiocese of Malta, and by Jesmond Bonello, President of UHM.

The agreement provides for better work conditions for all grades, including higher salaries and allowances backdated to January, and a one-off bonus to be paid in December. It also provides for a better work-life balance, with an extra day vacation leave and more flexible working conditions. Employees may also donate leave to their colleagues for health reasons.

Negotiations were led by Mr Pace Ross on behalf of the Archdiocese and Ms Isabelle Farrugia on behalf of the UHM. The collective agreement was approved by the Diocesan Finance Committee and the Diocesan Representative Council, chaired by Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna.
