• I thank the Holy Father, Pope Francis, for having entrusted me with this mission as shepherd of the Archdiocese of Malta. I greet the people of Malta and Gozo, my Brother Bishops, the clergy, members of religious Orders and lay people, and all persons of goodwill. I promise to lay down my life, following the example of Jesus, the Good Shepherd.
