• On the 23rd and 24th October at the Seminary in Rabat, the Jesuit Centre for Faith and Justice will hold a non-residential training seminar  called ‘Jimpurtani’ to equip youth leaders with the basic knowledge and skills to use a newly published manual  of activities in Maltese called ‘X’Jimpurtani’. This manual contains 10 sessions about the impact of the media, fair trade, poverty, immigration, politics, the environment, work and war. The manual is based on the Principles of the Catholic Social Thought but can be adaptable to all groups. The main aim is to help young people grow into responsible and socially conscious citizens.

These ten sessions include interactive ways of animating sessions for groups of young people: exercises, videos, music, power point presentations and moments of prayer. It takes the young people through a journey of discovery, reflecting and discussing the reality and setting out to do something about it both on an individual and a group level.

This project has been co-funded by the Kummissjoni Djocesana Żgħażagħ (KDŻ) and the training seminar will be funded by the MCVS SIS-VO fund.  Applications and more information about the manual or training seminar may be found on www.xjimpurtani.jesuit.org.mt or write directly to [email protected].
