Five New Candidates for the Priesthood

On Friday 14th March, 2014, five seminarians will ask the Church to accept them officially as candidates for their Ordination to the Diaconate and the Presbiterate during a concelebrated Mass presided over by Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. at the Parish Church of the Assumption of Mary, Mosta, at 6:30pm.
The five seminarians, who are in their fifth year of formation at the Archbishop’s Seminary, are Sergio Fenech and Mark Mallia Pawley from St Sebastian’s Parish, Ħal Qormi, Claude Mifsud from the Parish of the Assumption of Mary, Mosta, James Saydon from the Parish of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, Naxxar, and Gilbert Scicluna from St Joseph’s Parish, Kalkara.
These five seminarians will publicly manifest their will to offer themselves to the Church to serve in the ministerial priesthood. While accepting their offering with joy, the Archbishop will call on the candidates to ensure that during the remaining years prior to their ordination, they will prepare themselves to worthily receive Holy Orders.
The Christian community is asked to pray for these new candidates for the priesthood.
