On the occasion of the first anniversary of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI’s Pastoral Visit to Malta, a Eucharistic Celebration will be organized at St John’s Co Cathedral on Sunday 10th April, 2011, at 6pm. This Mass of thanksgiving will be celebrated by Archbishop Paul Cremona OP, the bishops of Malta and the Apostolic Nuncio Tommaso Caputo.
Pope Benedict XVI visited Malta between the 17th and 18th April 2010, on the occasion of the 1950th anniversary of St Paul’s Shipwreck.
During the Mass a video clip will be shown with highlights from the Pope’s visit and extracts from his messages to the people of Malta. At the end of the Mass, a message addressed to Pope Benedict XVI will be read out.
The general public is invited and encouraged to attend.
