On Wednesday 8th February 2012, Mgr Prospero Grech O.S.A., Cardinal Elect, was ordained Archbishop at St John’s Cocathedral in Valletta. Mgr Grech was consecrated by Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. and was given the title of Titular Archbishop of St Leone (Italy). The co-concelebrant bishops of the episcopal ordination were Mgr Giuseppe Versaldi, Archbishop and President of the Prefecture of Economical Affairs of the Vatican, and Mgr Mario Grech, Bishop of Gozo.
On Saturday 18th February 2012, Mgr Grech will be appointed Cardinal by Pope Benedict XVI at St Peter’s Basilica, Vatican City.
