ProgettImpenn which is the task force of the Diocesan Family Commission entrusted with iniatives which encourage healthy marriage, is organizing a National Conference next Friday, 21st October at Phoenicia Hotel, Floriana at 6.30pm.  The topic is: Divorce Legislation – the aftermath.  There will be some time allotted for questions/interventions from the floor.  The closing address will be delivered by Mons P Cremona OP, Archbishop of Malta.  This conference is being organised on the occasion of the anniversary of the Charter of the Rights of the Family.

The guest speaker is David Quinn, an Irish journalist and commentator on the media with respect to social and religious matters.  He served as the editor of the Irish Catholic, a twice-weekly newspaper.  He has also contributed to several other newspapers such as the Sunday Times, the Sunday Business Post and the Irish Daily Mail, as well as First Things, The Human Life Review and the Wall Street Journal.  At present, he is entrusted with weekly articles in the Irish Independent and the Irish Catholic.  He participates regularly in radio and television programmes  on current affiars in Ireland.  In January 2007 he set up the IONA institute, an agency which promotes healthy marriages and religion in society.  In 2006 he participated in a debate with the atheist Richard Dawkins; the debate centered on Dawkins’ famous book: The God Delusion.
