Diversity brings us together!

Missio Malta celebrated World Diversity Day together with school children from the Mellieħa Primary School on Monday 15th May. The activity served to mark UNESCO’s World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, with the aim of highlighting the wealth of the world’s cultures and promoting peace through dialogue.

The ordination of a new deacon in the Maltese Greek-Catholic parish

On Sunday, 21st May 2023, the Greek-Catholic parish in Malta will have a new deacon. The diaconal ordination of subdeacon Jesmond Schembri will take place with the blessing of Archbishop Charles Scicluna and with the laying of the hands of Mgr Manuel Nin O.S.B., Apostolic Exarch to Greece and Titular Bishop of Carcabia. The Way of Light on 20th May

In preparation for the solemnity of Pentecost, when we celebrate the descent of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the church, the traditional devotion of the Easter season, the Via Lucis or Way of Light, will be prayed at St Joseph the Worker Parish Church, Birkirkara, on Saturday May 20 at 8pm.

Statement by the Archdiocese of Malta

In a recent blog post, Simon Mercieca, a professor of history at the University of Malta, alleged that Archbishop Charles Scicluna is a member of Opus Dei.

This is totally untrue.

Dun Mikiel Azzopardi remembered on the 36th anniversary of his death

“Dun Mikiel responded with his heart full of love to bring into the open the persons with disability and provide them with a home: Id-Dar tal-Providenza.”
