No child should have to suffer just because he was born in a country with a high AIDS rate and a poor medical system, the president of Caritas Internationalis has declared as the global Catholic aid agency turns the focus of World AIDS Day to children.

On Friday, 27th November at 6.30pm, Archbishop Paul Cremona will preside over at a celebration at Floriana parish church, during which he will be instituting five sixth year seminarians as acolytes. The new acolytes are Stephen Attard from Mosta, Rene’ Antoine Cilia from the parish of St George Qormi, Nicholas Dimech from Siggiewi, Stephen Magro from Zabbar and David Torpiano from Floriana.

Matul is-sena li għaddiet, il-Knisja f’Malta kienet tħaddem magħha ftit iktar minn 1,100 persuna, bi spiża ta madwar €12-il miljun f’pagi. Dawn barra l-madwar 1,400 għalliem oħra fl-iskejjel tagħha, li madankollu jirċievu s-salarju tagħhom mill-Istat, skont il-ftehim li kien sar bejn l-Istat Malti u s-Santa Sede f’Novembru 1991. Dawn iċ-ċifri jpoġġu lill-Knisja f’Malta fost l-ikbar employers fil-pajjiż.

Anglican Archbishop Rowan Williams
The Archbishop of Canterbury is meeting the Pope in Rome amid tensions over the Vatican’s offer to welcome disenchanted Anglicans into the Catholic fold.
Pope Benedict’s proposal would allow Anglicans to convert while preserving many of their traditions and practices.
