World Youth Day 2011

The Italian official site of WYD 2011 in Madrid (16-21 August) is www.gmg2011.it. It is operating from today, 8 February, 12 o’clock. Promoted by the National Service for the Youth Pastoral of CEI, it is meant to be a milestone for all the news on the 26th World Youth Day.

Maltese Jesuits to Fundraise for Salesian Missions in Haiti

In light of the tragic events which have put Haiti at the forefront of World media and global initiatives, the Maltese Jesuit Province will be dedicating Wednesday 10th of February to creating awareness and raising funds for the people of Haiti.

75% of the funds raised will go to the Salesians in Haiti, whose schools have been so badly hit, and who will still be there long after others have gone… Read more »

Sport

Sport “can make an effective contribution to peaceful understanding between peoples and to establishing the new civilization of love”. This sentence, first pronounced by John Paul II in 2000, was echoed today by Benedict XVI in a message addressed to Mgr. J.
