PONTIFF SPEAKS OF THREATS TO FULFILLMENT

The threats to complete fulfillment can be eliminated if we allow Christ to illuminate our lives, says Benedict XVI.

The Pope affirmed this today in his traditional address before praying the midday Angelus with those gathered in St. Peter’s Square.

He noted today’s celebration of “Laetare Sunday,” with the entrance antiphon “Rejoice, Jerusalem! Be glad for her, you who love her …”

CLARIFICATION ON THE CHURCH’S PARTICIPATION IN THE SEMINAR ON FEASTS

The following clarification is necessary with respect to the comments passed regarding the participation of Church officials during the Seminar on Feasts organized by the Musical Society Madonna tal-Gilju, Mqabba.

CARITAS LIBYA REFUGEES FUND

Caritas Malta, in close cooperation with Caritas France and Caritas Internationalis has initiated a fundraising campaign in aid of the refugees fleeing the Libya crisis.

Recent political events in Libya caused hundreds of migrants to flee the country towards Egypt, Tunisia and to a lesser extent, Niger and Algeria making this one of the largest migration crises faced since the first Gulf War 1990… Read more »

THREE PAKISTANI CHURCHES ATTACKED THIS WEEK

On Monday night, six men attacked a Catholic church in Rawalpindi, the third aggression of its type in the past week.

The church of St. Thomas was attacked around 6:30 p.m. by a group of armed men who threw rocks at the lamps and windows and set fire to the door, Fides reported.
