€171,152 IN AID OF THE M.S.S.P. MISSIONARY WORK

Ohloq Tbissima Marathon, the 60 hour live broadcasting marathon in aid of the missionary work carried out by the Missionary Society of St. Paul  (MSSP) both locally and in Peru, Pakistan and the Phiippines,  came to an end at midnight.

The 60 hours were packed. One could participate in mass and prayer, listen to discussions, enjoy the Kids Corner, Musichiere, Charades,  Ohloq Tbissima Song Festival  and a variety of song and dance with the best of local talent.  … Read more »

Il-Papa Benedittu XVI introduċa żewġ inizjattivi ewlenin għal waqt iċ-ċelebrazzjonijiet tal-Jum Dinji taż-Żgħażagħ (WYD) .

Fl-ewwel Jum Dinji taż-Żgħażagħ tiegħu bħala Papa, f’Cologne fl-2005, Benedittu kien iqatta’ ħin twil jitlob fis-skiet quddiem is-Sagrament Imqaddes. Minn dak iż-żmien ’il hawn, l-adorazzjoni Ewkaristika saret fattur regolari fl-iskeda tal-Jum Dinji taż-Żgħażagħ.

POPE WILL SPEND SUMMER IN CASTELGANDOLFO

Pope in Castel-Gandolfo

In a note published today, the Prefecture of the Pontifical Household announced that this evening the Holy Father will travel to the Apostolic Palace of Castelgandolfo, where he will spend the summer.

PONTIFF: DON’T FORGET THE GOSPEL WHEN PACKING FOR VACATION

When packing for vacation this summer, leave space in your suitcase for the Gospel, Benedict XVI urges.

The Pope said this today when greeting those gathered in St. Peter’s Square today to pray the midday Angelus. Speaking in French, the Holy Father offered a brief reflection on summer vacation.

Vacation, he explained, “it’s not about leaving for the sake of leaving and resting, but rather it’s about living our relationships with our loved ones in a new way with God.”

He noted that the Gospel passage for this Sunday (Matthew 11: 25-30), which speaks of the yoke of Christ, points out to us the need for “rest and serenity.”
