Part of a pilgrimage of more than 70,000 young Italians included an evening prayer vigil in Rome on Saturday. The week-long pilgrimage was organized by the National Service for Youth Ministry of the Italian Bishops’ Conference in view of the Synod for Young People in October and World Youth Day in January.

In a victory for pro-life advocates in Argentina, the country’s Senate rejected a bill on Thursday to legalize voluntary abortion into the 14th week of pregnancy.
Hours of heated debate and impassioned pleas ended with a 38 to 31 vote against the measure. The bill had narrowly passed the lower house in July.

Following the Archdiocese of Malta circular published on 4th May 2018, which referred to a previous directive published years ago stating that fireworks should not be let off from Church property, Church authorities discussed the current situation with parish priests and various experts, and also met representatives of fireworks societies who wanted to give their views. Following a number of meetings, the original decision not to let off fireworks from Church property was upheld.
The Archdiocese would like to express its gratitude to a number of parishes and fireworks societies that accepted to adhere to the policy and found alternative venues for their fireworks displays…
