I was the fortunate youth from Munxar, who was selected to represent the Gozitan youths during Pope Benedict XVI’s visit in Malta. I was nominated by the parish of St Paul’s shipwreck where I am active as a catechist (at the Museum Branch of Sannat) and well involved in the Youth Movement. Luckily the draw was on my side! I was so excited to be near the Pope on the catamaran from Kalkara to the Valletta Waterfront. For me this was a unique and memorable experience. It is practically impossible for me to describe in words my emotions on that day, but I am sure I will never forget those singular moments. I was particularly impressed by the Pope’s humility and his attentive listening as I answered his questions. His words of encouragement I will certainly cherish.
