On Friday, 30th November 2012 at 6 p.m. Archbishop Paul Cremona will preside over a celebration at Rabat parish church, during which he will be instituting two seminarians as acolytes.
The two seminarians, who are currently in their sixth year of formation, are: Luke Cutajar from St.Paul’s Parish, Rabat and Brian Gialanzè from Saint Peter in Chains, Birzebbuga.
The institution as acolytes marks another important step in the seminarians’ formation for priesthood. As acolytes they will assist priests and deacons in their ministry, distribute the Eucharist to their fellow brothers and sisters including the sick, continue to grow in their personal love for the Eucharist and above all, act and speak in such a way to be worthy servants of the Lord and the Church.
The community of the Major Seminary is urging everyone to pray for these new acolytes, and to pray to the Lord that those whom he calls to the priestly and religious life may respond generously and wholeheartedly.
