The fourth edition of KDZ’s Young People’s Forum is being launched at St James Cavalier on Monday 22nd November at 7:00 p.m. The idea behind this year’s theme ‘Keepitreal’ is to investigate the social implications of web-based media including social networks, Instant Messaging, blogs and more.

A panel of researchers will highlight the major perspectives behind the theme. Ms Karen Bishop, Mr Alex Grech and Rev. Prof. Saviour Chircop will be sharing their expert insights on transformations in relationships, in social interaction and in the concept of ‘participation’.

Following this event, young people, who are the primary consumers of new media, will be given the opportunity to share and discuss perspectives on the significance of their impact. Their concerns and considerations will then be compiled into a memorandum and presented to Church and State authorities.

Organized by the Diocesan Commission for Youth (KDZ), the Young People’s Forum is an exercise of discussion and opinion-building on pressing social issues. The fora held so far have produced enlightening documents which included concrete proposals which were presented to key ecclesiastical and political decision-makers. Participation to the forum is free of charge.
