Beacon Media Group Ltd is a media company owned by the Catholic Church in Malta. Beacon Media Group incorporates the radio station RTK103 and Newsbook.com.mt. It provides various audio-visual and digital services through a division called the Media Centre.
Beacon Media Group Ltd commenced operations in 2017 following the merger between the Media Centre (originally established in 1980) and RTK Ltd (originally established in 1992).
The company operates from Blata l-Bajda where state of the art studios was built in 2019.
RTK103
The radio station RTK103 started broadcasting in July 2019 and operated in the chat-and-music genre. The station provides entertainment, information, discussion programmes and current affairs. The aim of the station is to diffuse a Christian message.
RTK103 took over the same frequency of Radio RTK which had started broadcasting in 1992. For decades, RTK had been established as one of the most influential and followed stations in Malta.
RTK103 is also available online and on the digital platform.
Newsbook Malta
Newsbook Malta is one of Malta’s leading bilingual news portals which has grown exponentially since it was officially launched on 1st October 2012. It maintains a strong social media presence on various channels, with over 144,000 followers on its main Facebook page.
Through a team of journalists covering local and foreign news and a dedicated lifestyle section, it is committed to provide news which is fair, accurate and trustworthy.
Our mission, our commitment
On the 27th May 2021 an intensive and very fruitful workshop was held with the participation of the members of the Board of Directors, members of the Editorial Board, members of the Management team and key Curia officials together with Bishop Joseph Galea Curmi. A seminal document was drawn based on various Church documents to pen a clear Mission, Vision and Values statement for the media of the Church in Malta. Media Centre
The Media Centre is the oldest section of Beacon Media Group. From a small operation based in the Catholic Institute in Floriana, the Media Centre has developed as a service provider for digital and audio-visual services both to Beacon Media as well as to third party contractors.
