We are celebrating another season of feasts, a season that should offer great moments of joy and togetherness.
Let us take this opportunity to make our feasts a means of reflection on the lives of the patron saints we are celebrating, and to better understand the love they had for God. Let us strive to follow in the footsteps of our patron saints as best we can, and to keep God at the centre of our celebrations. After all, He is the way, the truth, and the life, from beginning to end.
During our feasts, let us pray fervently for peace, so that we may have a better world. Let’s ask the Lord to keep His hands upon us, so that we too, may play our part and embrace peace with those closest to us, as well as with those who think differently from us. And let’s remember that our encounter with Jesus is at the centre of our feasts, the Source of All Holiness — especially through listening to the Word of God, the sacrament of Confession, and the Holy Communion.
