Brother Superior General Armin Luistro FSC recently returned to Malta as part of his pastoral tour of the District of Ireland, Great Britain, and Malta, engaging warmly with members of the local Lasallian Family.

His visit commenced with a keynote address at the 26th Annual Congress of ASSEDIL, held at Stella Maris College in Gżira. The Congress brought together over 120 educational leaders from across Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East. Br. Armin’s closing remarks offered a compelling reflection that set the tone for the days to follow.

The pastoral phase of the visit began on Saturday evening and culminated in a special Eucharistic celebration on Sunday. This gathering included Lasallian Brothers from Malta and the District, members of the La Salle Malta Board, school leadership teams, and representatives from Signum Fidei and affiliated groups. It was a spiritually rich occasion that celebrated the strength and unity of the Lasallian mission.

On Monday, April 28, Br. Armin visited Stella Maris College, accompanied by Br. Joel Palud (General Councillor), Br. Ben Hanlon (Visitor of the District), Br. Austin Gili (Brother in Charge in Malta), Mr. Joseph Gilson (Chair of the La Salle Malta Trust), and other Brothers.

The day began with a morning prayer alongside educators, followed by a student-led welcome. Highlights included a dynamic dance performance, an engaging Q&A session, and meetings with both students and staff. A full tour of the college allowed Br. Armin to witness the learning environment firsthand. He addressed the entire school community, offering uplifting words of encouragement and inspiration.

Later that day, the delegation visited St Benild School, which serves the youngest members of the Stella Maris community. Their visit coincided with birthday celebrations for Br. Ben Hanlon and three students.

On Tuesday, Br. Armin toured De La Salle College, beginning the day with a prayer session with staff. He visited classrooms, workshops, and laboratories across the Junior and Senior schools and the Sixth Form. Students from all three schools participated in a series of lively Q&A sessions, creating space for sincere and thought-provoking dialogue.

Throughout his visit, Br. Armin consistently emphasised key Lasallian values: spirituality, servant leadership, and the vital role educators play in shaping the minds and hearts of young people.

His presence left a lasting impression on all who encountered him, further strengthening the bonds of the Lasallian Family in Malta and across the wider District.
