The Interdiocesan Environment and the Justice and Peace Commissions, in collaboration with the Franciscan Friars, will organize an activity to commemorate the Season of Creation 2023. Through this activity, they will be joining a number of Christian churches all over the world that between the 1st September and the 4th October of each year, seek to raise awareness in favour of the love of Creation.
In Malta, this year, the activity will be based on the documentary “The Letter: A Message for our Earth”. In this documentary, five people from the four corners of the world – Senegal, the Amazon Forest, India, and Hawaii – travel to Rome to meet Pope Francis. They share with him their experiences of how they are responding with hope and determination to the environmental crisis that is having a strong impact on their communities.
The activity will start with a time of prayer and after the documentary is shown, it will continue with a discussion and time for questions.
“The letter: A message for our earth” will be shown on Friday, 29 September 2023, at the Church of Santa Marija tal-Angli in Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq, between 7pm and 10:30pm.
To register, send an email to [email protected] by Thursday 28th September. The activity is free of charge, but donations will be appreciated to alleviate the costs.
