A light to illuminate the nations – Bishop Galea‑Curmi

The Parish Church of the Annunciation, Balzan

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

“Dawl biex idawwal il-ġnus” (Lq 2:32). Dan huwa l-kliem li jgħid Xmun fit-tempju, u huwa l-kliem li jiġbor it-tifsira tal-festa li qed niċċelebraw illum.

Hi l-Festa tal-Preżentazzjoni tal-Mulej, ġrajja ta’ importanza fl-Istorja tas-Salvazzjoni. Din il-festa, iċċelebrata erbgħin jum wara l-Milied, tfakkar il-mument meta Marija u Ġużeppi jġibu lit-tarbija Ġesù fit-Tempju ta’ Ġerusalemm biex jippreżentawh lill-Mulej, skont il-Liġi Lhudija. Hawnhekk jiltaqgħu ma’ Xmun u Anna, żewġ qaddejja ta’ Alla li jagħrfu f’Ġesù l-Messija tant mistenni… Read more »

Let us choose life – Bishop Galea‑Curmi

Homily on the Day of Life

  St John’s Co-Cathedral, Valletta

Homily by Bishop Joseph Galea-Curmi

In life, we make many choices. However, all of us present here received the gift of life, and were born, not because of a choice we made ourselves, but because our parents chose life. There were people who looked after us lovingly before and after we were born. We are profoundly grateful to them.

However, our gratitude is even deeper because they brought us up in an environment that cherishes life… Read more »

Seeds of hope – Bishop Galea‑Curmi

The Chapel of Our Lady of Manresa at the Archbishop's Curia, Floriana

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

“Qisha żerriegħa tal-mustarda” (Mk 4:31). Dan hu l-kliem li juża Ġesù fl-Evanġelju skont San Mark illum meta jitkellem fuq is-Saltna ta’ Alla. Fiż-żewġ parabboli li jgħid, fit-tnejn li huma hemm din “iż-żerriegħa”. Mal-ewwel jolqtok kif Ġesù, biex jispjega s-Saltna ta’ Alla, li hi xi ħaġa kbira, jitkellem fuq iż-żerriegħa.

Huwa kliem li lilna għandu jagħtina ħafna inkoraġġiment. Għax hawnhekk Ġesù qed jitkellem fuq il-ħajja tagħna Nisranija, u wkoll fuq il-ħajja tal-komunità Nisranija li hija l-Knisja… Read more »
