Mary Magdalene stayed outside the tomb weeping. And as she wept, she bent over into the tomb and saw two angels in white sitting there, one at the head and one at the feet where the body of Jesus had been. And they said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “They have taken my Lord, and I don’t know where they laid him.”

“He gave the Church a powerful lesson by visiting major cities—not for their prominence, but to reach out to the marginalised” – Fr Anton d’Amato

Dun Anton d’Amato kien iltaqa’ mill-qrib ma’ Papa Franġisku meta dak iż-żmien hu kien Direttur tal-Kummisjoni Migranti u l-Papa kien żar il-Laboratorju tal-Paċi f’Ħal Far. Fl-intervent tiegħu waqt il-programm dirett fuq RTK103 biex ifakkar il-memorja ta’ Papa Franġisku hu qal li fil-ponitifkat tiegħu ġibed it-truf lejn in-nofs għax għex il-messaġġ tal-Vanġelu, l-ispirtu “tal-aħħar jiġi l-ewwel” u saħaq li “ta tagħlima kbira lill-Knisja għax mar fi bliet kbar imma biex iżur ftit eluf li jkunu l-emarġinati.”

Dan l-ispirtu għexu mhux biss meta għamel il-ħin biex iżur il-migranti fil-Laboratrju tal-Paċi f’Ħal Far imma wkoll meta għażel li fl-ewwel żjara tiegħu bħala Papa jżur il-gżira ta’ Lampedusa f’Lulju tal-2013… Read more »

L-Isqof Awżilarju qal li l-mewta tiegħu fl-ewwel Tnejn tal-Għid, fl-Ottova, hija waħda sinifikanti u tfakkarna fi Kristu ħaj u Kristu Rxoxt u qal ukoll kif Papa Franġisku kien tassew xhieda sabiħa ta’ dan l-istess Kristu u b’ħajtu kien ta eżempju anke fil-mumenti tat-tbatija… Read more »

Pope: Easter faith spurs us to seek the risen Lord with hope and joy

Mary Magdalene, seeing that the stone of the tomb had been rolled away, ran to tell Peter and John. After receiving the shocking news, the two disciples also went out and — as the Gospel says — “the two were running together” (Jn 20:4). The main figures of the Easter narratives all ran! On the one hand, “running” could express the concern that the Lord’s body had been taken away; but, on the other hand, the haste of Mary Magdalene, Peter and John expresses the desire, the yearning of the heart, the inner attitude of those who set out to search for Jesus… Read more »
