So that no one is left marginalised – Bishop Joseph Galea‑Curmi

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

“Mulej, jekk trid, tista’ tfejjaqni” (Mt 8:2). Tolqotna din it-talba lil Ġesù li għamel dan ir-raġel li kellu l-marda tal-lebbra, u tolqotna ħafna għax ma tantx issib talb fl-Evanġelju ta’ nies li lil Ġesù jgħidulu “jekk trid”. Hi iktar it-talba li tixbah lil ta’ Ġesù nnifsu, meta kien fl-Ort tal-Ġetsemani, u ta’ Ġesù meta għallimna t-talba tal-Missierna u qalilna biex nitolbu lil Alla: “Ikun li trid int, kif fis-sema, hekkda fl-art” (Mt 6:10)… Read more »

Mass on the closing of the academic year of the Pastoral Formation Institute

The Parish Church of St Mary, Attard

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

“Mulej, Mulej, mhux f’ismek ħabbarna aħna, mhux f’ismek keċċejna x-xjaten u f’ismek
għamilna ħafna mirakli?” (Mt 7:22) Dan il-kliem li Ġesù jgħid fl-Evanġelju llum skont San
Mattew ifakkarna ħafna dak li Ġesù jgħid lid-dixxipli fl-Evanġelju skont San Mark, qabel
jitla’ s-sema, meta jgħidilhom: “Morru fid-dinja kollha, xandru l-Evanġelju lill-ħolqien
kollu.” (Mk 16:15) u jsemmilhom is-sinjali li jsieħbu lil dawk li jemmnu: “f’ismi jkeċċu x-
xjaten…iqiegħdu idejhom fuq il-morda u dawn ifiqu” (Mk 16:17-18)… Read more »

Invitation to conversations on the role of the Maltese Church in today’s society

The year 2024 of the synodal process for ecclesial renewal One Church, One Journey is dedicated to the theme “Church that Goes Forth”.

At the last Diocesan Assembly of November 2023 that launched the year, participants identified a number of themes where the local Church needs to go forth so that, in the spirit of St Paul the Apostle who proclaimed the gospel among us with gestures of healing, we too reach out with “unusual kindness” (Acts 28:2) to heal wounds… Read more »
