Going out about nine o’clock, he saw others standing idle in the marketplace, and he said to them, ‘You too go into my vineyard, and I will give you what is just.’ So they went off… Read more »

What is the role of the Church in Malta in addressing violence against women?

Join us for a spiritual conversation on 21st August at 5:30pm

As part of recent spiritual discussions, and considering the horrific and continuous acts, One Church One Journey will host a session to address the trauma of femicide.

Beyond the politics and cultural issues, femicide deeply wounds us and threatens to numb our spirits. We need psychological and spiritual strength to protect ourselves from the subtle, pervasive effects while recognising the harm. We can gather in prayer as Christians and echo Jesus’ cry on the cross: “Why have you abandoned me?”— a cry that many women share today… Read more »

Jesus said to his disciples: “Amen, I say to you, it will be hard for one who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for one who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”

When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and said, “Who then can be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, “For human beings this is impossible, but for God all things are possible.” Then Peter said to him in reply, “We have given up everything and followed you… Read more »

If you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments.” He asked him, “Which ones?” And Jesus replied, “‘You shall not kill; you shall not commit adultery; you shall not steal; you shall not bear false witness; honour your father and your mother’; and ‘you shall love your neighbour as yourself.’”

Pope at Angelus: Welcome the gift of heavenly Bread found in Jesus

  Saint Peter's Square, the Vatican

Dear brothers and sisters, happy Sunday!

Today, the Gospel tells us about Jesus, who says, very simply: “I am the living bread that came down from heaven” (Jn 6:51). Before the crowd, the Son of God identifies himself with the most common and ordinary food- bread: “I am the bread”. Among those who are listening to Him, some start arguing among themselves (cf… Read more »
