Jesus’ way of life – Bishop Galea‑Curmi

  Annunciation Church, Balzan

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

Ġesù kellu diversi diżappunti fil-ħajja. U f’dan l-Evanġelju hawn aktar minn diżappunt wieħed. L-ewwel wieħed hu meta kien qed ikellem lid-dixxipli tiegħu u jgħidilhom minn xiex kien se jgħaddi: li se jgħaddi minn tbatija kbira, joqtluh, u wara tlett ijiem iqum mill-mewt. U r-reazzjoni tagħhom kienet li d-dixxipli “ma fehmhux” (Mk 9:32). L-Evanġelju jgħid: ma fehmuhx, imma wkoll beżgħu jistaqsuh.

Imma d-diżappunt kien ikbar għal Ġesù meta hu ntebah li waqt li hu kien qed jgħidilhom b’dak li kien se jgħaddi minnu, huma fuqiex kienu qegħdin jitkellmu? … Read more »

The Gospel of the day: 23rd September

Readings of the day

First Reading: Proverbs 3:27-34
Psalm: 14 (15):2-3ab,3cd-4ab,5

Gospel: Luke 8:16-18

“No one after lighting a lamp hides it under a jar, or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light. For nothing is hidden that will not be disclosed, nor is anything secret that will not become known and come to light. Then pay attention to how you listen; for to those who have, more will be given; and from those who do not have, even what they seem to have will be taken away.”
