Bishop Galea-Curmi: Lack of respect stems from a lack of peace in the heart

Bishop Joseph Galea-Curmi has stated that when respect for one another is absent in society, it is because “there is no peace in the heart,” which leads to “sowing seeds of hatred.”

In an interview on Għal Kulħadd on RTK103, the Bishop was asked to comment on the recent attack on police officers in Hamrun. He remarked that while we often discuss conflicts and wars in other countries, we should also focus on what is happening within our own communities in Malta… Read more »

Immediately after His baptism in the Jordan, Jesus “was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil” (Mt 4:1) – this is what the Gospel of Matthew says. The initiative is not Satan’s, but God’s. Going into the wilderness, Jesus obeys an inspiration of the Holy Spirit; He does not fall into an enemy snare, no, no! … Read more »

The Chapel of Our Lady of Manresa at the Archbishop's Curia, Floriana

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

“Ħadd ma jixgħel musbieħ u jgħattih b’għatu jew iqiegħdu taħt sodda” (Lq 8:16). Dan hu l-kliem li jgħid Ġesù llum fl-Evanġelju skont San Luqa, u jgħidu lill-folla. Hu kliem li n-nies jifhmuh, għax jekk int tixgħel musbieħ, tixegħlu biex tqiegħdu f’post fejn jista’ jagħti d-dawl. Għalhekk Ġesù jgħid li tqiegħdu fuq l-imnara, li kienet lampa medjevali li kienet tintuża biex tista’ tqiegħed il-musbieħ, u msiebaħ oħra, biex jistgħu jagħtu d-dawl… Read more »
