Pope at Angelus – Am I capable of saying “no” to the temptations of evil?

  Saint Peter's Square, The Vatican

Dear brothers and sisters, buongiorno!

Today’s Gospel shows us Jesus freeing a person possessed by an “evil spirit” (see Mk 1:21-28), tormenting and making them scream (see. vv. 23, 26). They had a reason to be in awe – Bishop Galea-Curmi

  Parish Church, Balzan

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

“Baqgħu mistagħġbin” (Mk 1:22). Dawn iż-żewġ kelmiet ifissru dak li n-nies ħassew meta kienu qed jisimgħu lil Ġesù fis-sinagoga ta’ Kafarnahum. L-Evanġelju jgħidilna li Ġesù, meta wasal Kafarnahum, malajr daħal fis-sinagoga u qagħad jgħallem; u ħoloq dan l-istagħġib.

X’kienet ir-raġuni? Għaliex stagħġbu meta semgħuh jitkellem? Qal xi ħaġa ta’ barra minn hawn, jew diskors mhux f’postu? Xejn minn dan! … Read more »

Pope on Holy Land war: Without two states, true peace remains distant

In an interview with the Italian newspaper ‘La Stampa’, Pope Francis renews calls for a global ceasefire, warning the world is on the brink of the abyss, and says the recent declaration ‘Fiducia supplicans’ seeks to include, not divide.

Spreading hatred between people ensures the continuation of war – The Archbishop

Mass on the 750th anniversary of St Thomas mof Aquinas

The Dominician Church of the Annunciation, Birgu

L-omelija tal-Arċisqof Charles Jude Scicluna

Kafarnahum kienet belt ħelwa ċkejkna fuq ix-xatt tal-Għadira ta’ Ġenezaret jew ta’ Tiberijadi jew il-baħar tal-Galilija, għalkemm huwa baħar ta’ ilma ħelu, għadira kbira ħafna. Min ikollu x-xorti, meta forsi jispiċċa u jieqaf l-inkwiet – ma nafx meta – iżur l-Art Imqaddsa, waħda mill-pellegrinaġġi importanti hi propju fuq din l-għadira, anke Kafarnahum fejn għad hemm il-fdalijiet tas-sinagoga li fiha daħal Ġesù u fiha wkoll seħħ l-episodju li smajna llum fl-Evanġelju skont San Mark… Read more »
