Sorrow that changes to peace – Bishop Galea-Curmi

The Chapel of Our Lady of Manresa at the Archbishop's Curia, Floriana

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

“In-niket tagħkom għad jitbiddel f’hena” (Ġw 16:20) Dan hu l-kliem li jgħid Ġesù lid-dixxipli tiegħu illum fl-Evanġelju skont San Ġwann – qiegħed hawnhekk fl-Aħħar Ċena – u qed jgħidilhom minn qabel li se jgħaddu minn esperjenza ta’ niket, imma n-niket se jinbidel f’hena. Qed jagħtihom it-tama, u aħna nafu mill-esperjenza ta’ dawn li raw kemm kien veru dal-kliem ta’ Ġesù, u għamlu esperjenza ta’ dak li San Pawl jispjega bi kliem sabiħ: “it-tama ma tqarraqx bina” (Rum 5:5)… Read more »

God guarantees us a destiny of pure joy, peace, wholeness and holiness – The Archbishop

Mass for all Catholics living in Malta

  St Paul's Cathedral, Mdina

There is a phrase in the gospel that the deacon has just proclaimed that we celebrate today on the feast of the ascension. ‘Ascension’ comes from the Latin word ‘ascendere‘ which means ‘to be lifted/exalted/taken up’. The phrase used by the evangelist Mark is “After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God” (Mk 16:19-20). This is what we say also in the Creed… Read more »

The feast of the Ascension teaches us to enjoy life, not despise it – The Archbishop

Mass on the Ascension of the Lord, Mother's Day and the 60th anniversary from the foundation of Dar tal-Kleru and the Servants of the Cenacle

The Chapel of Dar tal-Kleru, Birkirkara

L-omelija tal-Arċisqof Charles Jude Scicluna

Il-festa tal-lum tfakkarna f’realtà sabiħa, mhux avveniment li sar fil-passat, 40 jum wara l-qawmien ta’ Ġesù, u daqshekk. Għaliex dak li ġara 40 jum wara l-qawmien tiegħu, b’xi mod hu mument fejn id-dixxipli għarfu, li l-istaġun ta’ dehriet straordinarji tal-Irxoxt kien intemm, u li huma kienu mibgħuta biex iwasslu l-Bxara t-Tajba, l-Aħbar it-Tajba, “indmu u emmnu fl-Evanġelju” (Mk 1:15), u jwassluha mat-trufijiet tad-dinja… Read more »

AI is awakening humanity from the slumber induced by the illusion of omnipotence – Pope Francis

Dear brothers and sisters!

The development of systems of artificial intelligence, to which I devoted my recent Message for the World Day of Peace, is radically affecting the world of information and communication, and through it, certain foundations of life in society. These changes affect everyone, not merely professionals in those fields. The rapid spread of astonishing innovations, whose workings and potential are beyond the ability of most of us to understand and appreciate, has proven both exciting and disorienting… Read more »

After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it… Read more »
