Maltese Bishops congratulate Bishop Angelo Falzon

Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna, Bishop Anton Teuma and Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Galea-Curmi welcome the appointment by Pope Francis of Fr Angelo Falzon as Bishop of the Diocese of Comayagua, Honduras.

The Archdiocese of Malta and the Diocese of Gozo are united in prayer for Bishop Falzon so that the Lord will help him in this new mission.

Fr Angelo, born in Naxxar on 15th October 1957, entered the Franciscan Order on 2nd October 1977 in the Maltese Province of Friars Minor, dedicated to St Paul the Apostle… Read more »

Jubilate Deo Choir’s 50th anniversary concert

The Jubilate Deo Choir, the choir of the Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Malta, will hold a concert to commemorate the 50th anniversary of its establishment on Wednesday, 15th May, at the Church of the Souls in Ħal Tarxien.

The concert, entitled ‘Faħħruh’ (Praise Him), will feature a programme of prayerful music from Taizé and Gregorian chant. Maestro di Cappella Christopher Muscat, the choir director and Musical Director of the Archdiocese, will lead the musical direction… Read more »

Book ‘Gilbert Simiana: In the Footsteps of Jesus’ launched

During the General meeting of MUSEUM, the book called ‘Gilbert Simiana: In the Footsteps of Jesus’ was launched. A biography researched and written by Stephen Zammit, a member of the Society.

Gilbert died two months shy of sixteenth birthday, and many paid witness to his holiness, especially during his sickness.

On this occasion, the elects and aspirants of the SDC Centres of Malta were invited, as were Gilbert’s mother, his siblings Loraine and Keith, and other relatives and friends… Read more »

The Bishops of Malta and Gozo at the Vatican for their first ‘ad limina’ visit

The Bishops of Malta and Gozo left Malta today for a five-day ad limina Apostolorum visit at the Vatican, during which they will provide updates on the status of their respective dioceses. The bishops will have an audience with the Pope on Friday morning.
