Pope at Audience: God’s love is not only for a little group

  Saint Peter's Square, Vatican

Dear brothers and sisters, good morning!

In the last catechesis we saw how the first “council” in the history of the Church – council, like that of Vatican II –, the first council, was convened in Jerusalem over a matter linked to evangelization, namely the proclamation of the Good News to non-Jews – it was thought that Gospel should be proclaimed only to Jews… Read more »

Prayer for Spiritual Communion

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most Blessed Sacrament.
I love You above all things.
I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart… Read more »

Life is full of uphills and downhills – The Archbishop

  Saint Joseph's Sanctuary, Rabat

L-omelija tal-Arċisqof Charles Jude Scicluna

Kienu għaddew 40 jum mit-twelid ta’ Ġesù, u Ġużeppi ħa lill-omm u lit-tarbija Ġesù Ġerusalemm, kif titlob il-liġi. Mar biex jippreżenta lil dak li quddiem il-liġi kien ibnu, tant li San Luqa stess jirreferi għal Ġużeppi, fl-Evanġelju li għadna kemm smajna, bħala missieru: “missieru u ommu” (Lq 2:33). Mar Ġerusalemm biex jippreżenta lil Ġesù, kif trid il-liġi.

L-ewwel dettall li nixtieq noffri għal din ir-riflessjoni, li taħbat ukoll iċ-ċelebrazzjoni li qegħdin nagħmlu tas-60 anniversarju mill-inkurnazzjoni tax-xbieha għażiża ta’ San Ġużepp li seħħet fl-1 ta’ Mejju, imma qed nikkomemorawha llum, hija li l-offerta ta’ dan il-missier kienet offerta tal-fqar… Read more »

Give us a heart that looks like yours – Bishop Galea-Curmi

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

“O Alla, int tagħtina l-aqwa xhieda tas-setgħa tiegħek bla tarf billi taħfrilna u tħenn għalina.” Din it-talba hija talba antika, sa mis-seklu tmienja, u hija talba li ngħiduha proprju fil-Liturġija (Kolletta, 26 Ħadd tas-sena). Hija talba li tesprimi b’mod sabiħ ħafna kif il-maħfra ta’ Alla, il-ħniena li hu juri magħna, mhijiex turija ta’ dgħufija tiegħu, imma tas-setgħa tiegħu bla tarf.

Għalhekk nifhmu l-kliem ta’ Ġesù meta jgħid illum fl-Evanġelju: “Ħennu, bħalma hu ħanin Missierkom” (Lq 6:36)… Read more »

Our mission is to be servants – Archbishop

  Saint Paul's Co-Catherdal, Mdina

L-omelija tal-Arċisqof Charles Jude Scicluna

Dan l-Evanġelju, għalina li magħżula b’responsabbiltà fil-komunità, huwa spunt ta’ riflessjoni u eżami tal-kuxjenza. Bil-Kelma tiegħu, il-Mulej jixtieq inaddafna minn kull pretenzjoni, minn kull għatx jew regħba għad-dinjità u għall-poter, u jrid ifakkarna fil-missjoni ta’ vera: “Il-kbir fostkom għandu jkun il-qaddej tagħkom” (Mt 23:11).

Aħna llum qegħdin infakkru u nitolbu b’suffraġju ta’ ragħaj tagħna, maħbub, li qeda l-poplu tiegħu għal snin twal… Read more »
